Rescued Cat is Up for Adoption.

Pappi is a big lover of a Maine coon, smoky gray, about four to five years old. He lived outside for over two years and is now very happy to be indoors. Pappi is shy at first, but when he realizes he is not in any danger he will sit close and look for affection by giving you gentle head butts.

Pappi is the submissive type and adores the other cats at his foster home. He has good litter box manners and uses his scratching post, not the furniture.

When rescued, along with being painfully matted he had lots of cuts and scratches. While outside trying to survive,he would have to endure beatings from a cat that did not like him. Because of this, Pappi developed an auto-immune disease, however all he requires is a low cost supplement added to his food daily.

Pappi’s story is told by Sue, who contacted LOLCR:

“I just wanted to share this story with you all. First, I want to say, if you love animals, especially cats, this group of volunteers (LOLCR) is by far a stellar top notch organization. They not only rescued my stray friend pictured here, but did so within 24 hours of my asking for help. This was after I asked many other groups to help, with no success.

We called him ‘Dad’ because he fathered many kittens in my neighborhood. He wandered around our yard for a few years, begging for food at my door daily. He braved the elements — rain, wind and snow (remember last winter?).

Sometimes he would come to us dripping wet (cats are never wet!) with icicles forming on his fur. I opened my shed door and provided him bedding, food, and fresh water every day, but I always knew that wasn’t enough. In summer months, he visited with us outside on the patio, wanting so badly to be petted from head to toe. But we were always reluctant.

His fur was matted and we didn’t think it was a good idea, so we gave him short pats on the head. He loved it. Now look – he’s warm and safe and happy, and has a new outfit to grow into! What more could he want? A new family to love? He makes friends easily with other cats and loves people.

This will be an easy adoption, because Pappi (his new name) knows what its like to be homeless and he’s not feeling that anymore :) Thanks for reading this and thinking about adopting. If you can’t adopt, please ‘like’ their Facebook page and donate if possible.”
